The percentages in personal training can be absolutely invaluable. However, it is necessary to incorporate good way to get the advantage. One thing to think are the percentages required for your customers?
Almost
every strength and conditioning coach in the country is based on the
percentages to meet the desired intensity for some lifts athletes. Basically the customer to his elevation to a percentage of your one rep max. If
they had a bench press of 100 pounds maximum, and I wanted to do 3 sets
of 12 repetitions at 60%, they would 3x12 to 60 pounds.
This
is absolutely necessary in most environments conditioning for several
reasons, including the design of coherent programs, and the use of force
and intensity (speaking from experience, some people become loose if
they had the opportunity). So the question is, are the percentages for you?
Well, let's take a look at your situation. What is the level of your athletes or clients? New
competitors or customers are likely to benefit as much as percentages
not the most advanced clients because they must learn to properly
perform the lift first. Secondly,
a new customer to adapt to exercise so fast that the next time you
perform the exercise, the maximum amount of one repetition can be
updated and thus their percentages would be wrong (if used bench £ 100, but after two training sessions can bench 110 pounds, 60% that they work as too low to cause adaptation seeking).
The next thing to look at, it is the client's goals? Many customers personal coaching, just to help them exercise without specific targets, but the overall general fitness. For these customers, the percentages are probably unnecessary while the coach can control the intensity and effort to see. If
there is an athlete prepare for their sport, the intensities provide an
excellent guide to go and let you choose with precision weighing for
his series of works that will increase your potential for resistance.
Do you work with clients in a group setting or one on one? Private training sessions in the percentages of the group, since the trainer can control the intensity and adjust if necessary. In
group settings, you may not be able to see all the games that each
customer made, giving them weight to work on each game will likely be
more effective.
The question of whether to use its percentage is very individual training. Personally, I use percentages and weight calculations with almost all my athletes, however, is not a strict guide. Sometimes the weight is too heavy, too light sometimes, and this is where the art of coaching is to adjust as needed. All
